Welcome to the PayDay MacTips and Video Tutorials web log (blog) site.

What is a blog? A blog is a web site that you interact with by sharing comments with other bloggers visiting this site. This MacTips blog is designed to be not only your “one stop shop” for learning more about your Mac computer, but also a place where you can add comments for your coworkers to read.

Let’s get started!

On your right, you should see two main “Categories”. PAYDAY MACTIPS (with many subcategories underneath it), and VIDEO TUTORIALS (with subcategories underneath it). For simplicity sake, we’ll refer to all of these areas as “categories”.

PAYDAY MACTIPS: Most of you are familiar with my PayDay MacTips. I’ve been emailing them to staff members since the early to mid 90′s. If you click on “PayDay MacTips” on the right, you will see every single PayDay Mactip on this blog site. I suggest that you click on a category under “PayDay MacTips” in order to see just the MacTips pertaining to that category. Example: Click on “Groupwise Tips” to see only the MacTips related to your Groupwise email application.

Go ahead and click once on “Groupwise Tips” to take a peek at the Groupwise MacTips page. When you’re finished, click on “Start Here” near the upper right corner of this blog site to return to this page.

Note: When you go to a category like “OS X (General)”, and there’s not enough room for all tips to fit on one page, there will be a link at the bottom of that page titled “Older Posts”. By clicking on this link, you will then be taken to yet another page of “OS X (General)” MacTips.

Go ahead and click once on “OS X (General)” to view the “Older Posts” feature mentioned above. And as before…when you’re finished, click on “Start Here” in the upper right corner of this blog site to return to this page.

VIDEO TUTORIALS: Here you’ll find an ever-growing library of video tutorials that will visually walk you through a particular task on your Mac. If there’s a topic that you’d like to see covered in a video tutorial, let me know.

How do I view a video tutorial?

1. In the side bar on the right, click once on the category of your choice under the main Video Tutorials category, and then locate a video tutorial that you would like to view.

2. Read through the short description for that video tutorial, and then click once on the words “PLAY the video” found at the end of every video tutorial description.

Using the “Search” box:

Looking for a particular MacTip or Video Tutorial? Use the search box in the upper right corner of this page. Go ahead and give it a try. Type “server” (without quotes) in the search box, and then click on “Search”. See if any MacTips are found related to your search criteria. Again, when finished, click on “Start Here”.
